I know I said I would try to cut the baking down to once a week but I had a little free time today and I was a little salty I didn’t have the time to use my new Wilton Cookie Heart Pop Pan for Valentines Day, but I had the pleasure of using it today. The pan was awesome by the way. I had no problem getting the cookies out of the pan. Also the fact that I can add sticks if I want to make cookie pops is a huge plus.
I saw the photo above while surfing the web and I thought it was sooo pretty. So pretty it inspired my cookie for the day.
I took my favorite sugar cookie recipe and separated the dough into 4 bowls and colored the dough with Gel Food Coloring. Just for fun I sprinkled in a few chocolate chips in each bowl. (Not pictured)
Press a bit of each color dough into the heart molds and bake for 8 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove cookies from pan and place on a wire rack to cool.
Next I melted and colored 1/4 cup of white chocolate chips for each color in the cookie. (I used sandwich bags to pipe the chocolate on the cookies…easy clean up too.)
You can decorate the cookies however you like. I went for a Picasso Graffiti look. For the finishing touch I sprinkled on pink and purple glitter from the Wilton’s Sprinkles Sweetheart Mix and Bam!!! Fun & Easy!!!
